There are some who believe that the search for meaning is an individualistic pursuit, best left up to each person to work out for themselves.
But this sentiment is misguided because it fails to acknowledge that we’re social creatures first and individuals second. In other words, our experiences and interactions with others shape every part of who we are as well as what we think and feel about the world around us.

Start small and gradually increase how often you practice self-discipline until you’re doing it every day without fail. For example, if you want to get into the habit of exercising every day (which I highly recommend), start by committing to exercising once a week.
Once you’ve developed that habit, work up to twice a week and then three times a week until finally, you are doing it every day without fail.
I know what some of you may be thinking right now: “But I just can’t seem to get myself motivated enough to exercise regularly!”
But remember that self-discipline isn’t just about getting yourself motivated; it also involves getting yourself un-motivated in certain situations.
For example, if your goal is to exercise more frequently but your motivation isn’t quite there yet, try setting up an environment where exercise is inconvenient or uncomfortable.
Move your workout clothes upstairs so that you have to go all the way upstairs after work when all you really want to do is relax on the couch with Netflix for an hour or two.
Finding meaning through helping others
